Color:
brownish grey to olive on the dorsal surface, paling
to a lighter ventral surface.
Diet:
marine invertebrates including shrimp, crabs, lobsters,
squid and cuttlefish as well as small bony fish, such
as hake, and small sharks and rays.
The sharpnose
sevengill has seven gill slits, large, green eyes, and
narrow, pointed head, and a single dorsal fin. It is
brownish gray on the back and sides. It is slightly
paler on the belly. The dorsal and upper caudal lobe
of smaller individuals are black tipped, but these fade
in the adults. The pectorals, dorsal and upper caudal
fins have thin white margins.
