bony fishes (including cod, sand perch and blennies), on elasmobranchs (spiny dogfish) and invertebrates (including octopuses, squids, snails, innkeeper worms, krill, hermit crabs, brachyuran crabs and spiny lobster).

Draughtsboard Shark Description
  This species has a large, broad head with wide mouth, it lacks labial furrows, the nasal flaps do not reach mouth and the second dorsal fin is much smaller than first dorsal. The color pattern of this species includes dark saddles and blotches (checker board pattern, hence the name) on a brown, sometimes golden background. The ventral surface is light in color and is not spotted.
