Shagya Description
The Shagya, or Shagya Arabian is a fairly rare animal that originated in Hungary. With a natural aptitude for being ridden and pulling carriages, the Shaya is a skilled participant in various sporting events. It is known for its endurance, elegant type, hardiness, economic keep, and friendliness. They have great rideability, including elegant, graceful movements and amazing jumping ability. The Shagya is slightly larger than pureblood Arabians. They have a refined head with a small tapered muzzle, large eyes, wide forehead and dished profile. The shoulders are sloping with a defined wither. Its back is short and slightly concave with a high set tail. Its legs and feet are strong. Its coat is fine and silky and the mane and tail are flowing. Most Shagyas are gray.
