The Kladruby
is an excellent carriage horse and is popular in Eastern
Europe. They are also successful at international driving
events. They are driven in teams of up to eight pairs,
although the larger teams are quite uncommon. The Kladruby
is very strong and has a stable temperament. They are
increasing in popularity as riding mounts. Along with
being used for riding and as carriage horses, they are
also used for farm work. They are known for their stamina
and longevity. They are very intelligent and calm as
well as energetic and generous. The Kladruby is a large
animal and resembles the Lippizaner and the Andalusian
breeds in appearance. Its head is long with a convex
profile, broad forehead, large eyes and flared nostrils.
The neck and shoulders are muscular. The back is long
and straight and the chest is deep and broad. Its legs
are strong and have clean joints and slender cannons.
The feet are well formed. The Kladruby is always white,
gray, or black.
