The French
Trotter is also known as the Norman Trotter. It is an
intelligent, quiet breed native to France. They are
known for their stamina and were bred as a trotting
racing horse. It is a moderately large animal with a
bold head, strong neck, and well-sloped shoulders. Its
back is either long or short. Its limbs are strong,
with large knees and strong bones. The hindquarters
are very strong. The French Trotter has been compared
to a less refined, sturdier Thoroughbred. They can appear
in all colors, with chestnut, bay and brown being the
most common.
