The Clydesdale
is an extremely large, powerful draft horse that has
been used for many years as a work horse. It is now
becoming more popular as a family horse due to its gentle
temperament. Their life span is 20 to 25 years, although
some have been known to live longer. The Clydesdale
is a handsome animal with a thick neck and their head
is considered delicate for a draft horse. Often it has
a white blaze on the head of the Clydesdale. Its legs
often have feathering and should have white "socks"
on its feet. They are usually seen with a bay colored
coat, although other colors, such as black, brown and
chestnut can also be seen.
