Pug Description
The pug has a body that is square, thickset, stocky and compact. The limbs are straight and strong which gives them a jaunty, rolling gait that is quite distinctive. Its back is short, with a level topline. The tail lays in a tight curl, and in the best specimens, a double curl on the back. Its coat is sleek and soft and it has a short, flat, black muzzle. It has velvety ears and rose-shaped is preferred. Its eyes are prominent, expressive, dark and lustrous and the moles on its cheeks are considered beauty spots.
