is a well-proportioned, majestic sheepdog with a very
handsome head. It has a well-defined, but not abrupt
stop. The muzzle is tapered, but not pointed and it
has a black nose. Its lips and the inside of the mouth
are black. Its ears are folded and close to the head
and its eyes are dark brown and almond-shaped. Its medium-boned
body is slightly longer than it is tall. The Kuvasz
is muscular, but not bulky. It is light-footed and agile
for its size. The lower abdomen is tucked up. Even though
it has a white coat, its skin is usually dark. The darker
the pigment in the skin, the better. Its medium-length
coat is straight or quite wavy, with a thick undercoat.
It forms an abundant mane around the neck and chest.
Its coat is much fuller in the winter. The hair on the
head and feet is short, but on the body and legs it
is wavy and can be as much as 4-6 inches long. The back
of the legs is feathered and it carries it tail low.
