Irish wolfhound Description
The Irish Wolfhound is a massive, muscular dog and one of the tallest breeds in the world. It can reach the size of a small pony. When it stands on its hind legs, the Irish Wolfhound can reach up to 7 feet tall. Its coat is rough and shaggy and it has wiry, bushy eyebrows. Its paws are round and large with arched toes that have strong, curved nails. Its head is long and it has a moderately pointed muzzle. It has a muscular, arched neck. Its chest is very deep and it has a well-retracted abdomen. It has strong shoulders. The Irish Wolfhound gives the appearance of strength and grace. Its tail hangs down with a slight curve. The ears are carried back against the head except when the animal is excited, when they may prick up part-way.
