The German
Wirehaired Pointed gets its name because of its coat
that is coarse, wiry, and weather-resistant. Its coat
is about 2 inches long with a thick undercoat. Its coat
is water-repellent and protects it from brambles. It
has a beard, forehead hair, and whiskers to protect
its face. It has a strong and slender neck and its chest
is wide and deep. Its muzzle is long, wide and robust.
The eyes are dark and transparent and its pendant ears
hang limply down beside the head.
