Caucasian Sheep Dog Description
The Caucasian Sheep Dog is also known as the Caucaian Ovtcharka. It has moderate deep-set, dark eyes and its ears are densely covered with hair for insulation. Its ears are cropped short in its native country. Its nose is black and prominent with well-opened, large nostrils. The hips are slightly raised from the line of the back and the forelimbs are straight, long, and densely boned. Its paws are heavy and large, with hair between the toes providing excellent insulation and protection. Its tail is profusely covered with long feathering of heavy hair. It has a weather-resistant coat that is thick and dense, with profuse feathering and is especially effective at keeping out the cold.
