Color:
tricolor of black and symmetrical markings of rust and white. It usually has a white blaze on the chest, white on the head and toes and rust markings over each eye, on the cheeks, sides of chest, under the tail and on each leg.
Life Span:
In recent years it was 10-12 years, but that has been decreased to about 6-8 years. Cancer is the main cause of death in the Berner world.

Bernese mountain dog Description
  The Bernese Mountain Dog is a sturdy, heavy dog. Its beautiful, moderately long, straight or wavy coat is weather-resistant. It has a broad head with a slight furrow down the middle. Its medium-sized, triangular ears are pendant and it has dark eyes with a gentle expression. Its nose is black. Its body is compact and its chest is deep and wide. The tail is long and bushy.
