Belgium/Brussels Griffon Description
The Griffon is a square-proportioned, sturdy toy dog. It has a domed head, undershot jaw, very short nose and lustrous eyes. Its head is large in comparison to the body. The Brussels Griffon's pout gives it an almost human expression. It resembles a miniature Boxer. There are two varieties - the Rough-Coated, with harsh, wiry and dense coat, and the Smooth-Coated or Petit Brabancon, with short, straight and glossy coat. Its ears are generally cropped and the tail is docked and carried high. Cropping of the ears is optional.
