Large dark
rosettes on a background of pale gray or creamy smoke-gray
characterize this woolly cat. Like the Leopard it feeds
on a wide range of prey.
Often active by day, especially in the early morning
and late afternoon, the Snow Leopard dens in a cavern
or crevice.
Hunted for its fur,it is also threatened by the scarcity
of its natural prey, and the encroachment of livestock
on pastures.
