Clouded Leopard Description |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| |
The smallest
of the big cats, the Clouded Leopard derives its name
from the "cloudy," black- bordered, dark patches
on its tawny, gray, or silver coat. Its forhead and
legs is spotted, and the tail banded.
Little is known about this eclusive cat, but it is believed
to be mainly arboreal( resembling a tree), avoiding
danger, resting, and stalking prey, from overhead branches.
Its climbing skill rivals that of many small cats:it
runs down trees head first or moves about among horizontal
branches with its back to the ground.
It is threatened by habitat loss and hunted excessively. |
